Kaia Community Committee: Request for Proposals

Note

We are pleased to announce the release of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Kaia Chain Community Committee. This RFP is designed to share the purpose and operation plan of the Kaia Chain Community Committee and to receive proposals from ecosystem members to run the Community Committee, which will be decided after sufficient discussion and input. We look forward to the attention and participation of community members and ecosystem partners.

Kaia Community Committee

• Purpose

1. To constitute the Community Committee, an organization that leverages ideas and engagement from the community to develop and execute new projects and initiatives.
2. To expand Kaia Chain’s global user base and collaborate with a bigger range of projects and communities.

• Operational plan

1. Organizing the committee

The Community Committee is a sub-governance of the Kaia Governance Council and is responsible for independent decision-making and rapid execution based on community input. The Community Committee is basically composed of a Chairperson and several committee members, including advisors.

2. Budget

The operating budget for the Community Committee will be allocated from the Kaia Ecosystem Fund (KEF). Chairperson candidates must submit the one-year operation budget in their proposal, and there is no limit on the amount.

Example of budget items: community committee management (development of operational tools, operational incentives, etc.), ecosystem investments, marketing, grants, liquidity provision, etc.

3. Operation period

The Community Committee become operational with the official launch of Kaia Chain and will have an initial term of one year. After 1 year of the operation, the Governance Council will vote to decide whether to extend the operation period. The extension period will be determined by a vote of the GC in one-year increments based on the performance during the initial operation period, and it is also possible to self-propose the operation period with a valid justification.

4. Timeline

Community committee proposals will be received publicly through the Governance Forum, and the timeline is as follows.

1. Proposal support for

• Community committee proposals can be created and proposed by Chairman candidates through the Governance Forum(Notice Category).
• The Chairperson determines the leadership and direction of the community committee. The Chairperson has leadership over committee composition and management, committee fund size and operations, and is ultimately responsible for achieving the milestones they set.
• The Chairman Candidate must be an entity that has at least two years of experience launching and operating community-related businesses or projects in the blockchain market (such as designing and operating DAO organizations).

2. Your proposal should include all of the following You can use examples from other ecosystems and projects in your proposal.

3. Composition of the Community Committee and the roles of Committee members

• Specific information about the Chairman Candidate and committee members.
• How committee members are selected.
• Responsibilities and roles of the chairperson and each committee member within the committee

2. Background and need for the Committee

• (Market) Reason for proposal in terms of the global blockchain market (urgency, feasibility)
• (Foundation) Why the new foundation should support this proposal (urgency, feasibility)

3. What’s community-driven business?

• A detailed list of the projects or services that the Community Committee will lead, describing the content, audience, functional requirements, etc.

4. Commitment expectations

• The economic, industrial, and social impact and contribution that the Kaia ecosystem can expect from the proposed Community Committee once it is up and running.

• KPIs and detailed progress timelines for community committees

5. Committee operation budget

• The line items in the budget needed to run the committee, and the required one-year operation budget and management procedures for each line item.
• Example topics: Community committee management (development of operational tools, operational incentives, etc.), ecosystem investment, marketing, grants, liquidity provision, etc.

6. How committees work

• Committee operation system and system deployment plan

7. Expected challenges of running a committee and how to overcome them

• Selection criteria and process

1. 커미티 구성

커뮤니티 커미티는 Kaia 거버넌스 카운슬의 하위 조직으로, 커뮤니티 의견을 바탕으로 독립적인 의사결정과 신속한 실행을 책임집니다. 커뮤니티 커미티는 기본적으로 한 개 Group 의 Chairman 과 다수의 커미티 멤버로 구성되며, 커미티의 특성에 따라 Advisor 등이 있을 수 있습니다.

2. 예산

커뮤니티 커미티의 운영 예산은 Kaia Ecosystem Fund(KEF) 에서 할당 될 예정입니다. Chairman Candidate 는 각 항목 별 필요한 1년 운영 예산을 제안서에 작성해야 하며, 금액에 대한 제한은 없습니다.

커뮤니티 커미티는 Kaia 의 공식 출범과 함께 운영이 시작되며, 최초 운영 기간은 1년입니다. 최초 운영기간 이후에는 거버넌스 카운슬 의 투표를 통해 운영 기간연장 여부가 결정됩니다. 연장 기간은 최초 운영기간 성과에 따라 1년 단위로 GC 투표를 통해 결정되며, 타당한 이유와 함께 운영기간에 대한 자율 제안도 가능합니다.

Announcement of Kaia Community Committee Evaluation Results and Follow-up Timeline

We sincerely thank everyone who participated in the application process for the Kaia Foundation’s Community Committee. Your passion and innovative proposals have greatly inspired the future direction and development of our foundation’s ecosystem.

We have completed the evaluation of each proposal for the effective operation and development of the Community Committee.

[Evaluation Results]

BUGHOLE Committee, KnightFury Alliance

BUGHOLE Committee, KnightFury Alliance Both the BUGHOLE Committee and the KnightFury Alliance are expected to make significant contributions to the Kaia community Committee with their unique strategies and approaches. Accordingly, the Kaia Foundation has selected these two committees as suitable candidates and seeks to officially initiate their operation through a Governance Council vote.

We anticipate that these two committees will maximize their strengths and positively impact the Kaia ecosystem. Therefore, we plan to register this content for a Governance Council vote, proposing a 6-month trial operation period for both committees. During this period, we will evaluate the performance based on the KPIs and milestones achieved, and based on the results, we may extend their operation.

Before the vote, both the BUGHOLE Committee and the KnightFury Alliance will update their proposals based on feedback from the evaluators. These proposals will include specific KPIs and milestones that can be achieved during the operation period. Additionally, we will actively explain and gather feedback about these proposals in a Governance Council briefing.

We kindly request the active participation and support of all ecosystem members.

• BUGHOLE Committee

The BUGHOLE Committee proposal demonstrates an understanding of the Kaia community and aims for a transparent, community-centered investment process that actively reflects community opinions within the ecosystem. This proposal effectively diagnoses issues with previous foundation-led grants and emphasizes the importance of a mainnet that aligns with community values and expectations. The applicant’s extensive experience in successful community building and management within the Web3 market is considered a significant asset for the operation of the Kaia Foundation Community Committee.

However, the proposal lacks specificity in creating and utilizing a platform for community-centered investment, particularly an operational plan based on blockchain. Therefore, a concrete and transparent strategy to facilitate the expansion of the Kaia ecosystem centered around the community needs to be strengthened.

Despite these shortcomings, the extensive experience in community building is expected to play a significant role in expanding the Kaia ecosystem through global community and project engagement.

• KnightFury Alliance

The KnightFury Alliance proposal showcases a comprehensive understanding of the Kaia ecosystem through a clear strategy to replicate past successes and enhance the mainnet’s image. This proposal is supported by professionals who are leading and creating tangible results in the Web3 market, demonstrating a clear plan to nurture and expand the Kaia ecosystem with a firm commitment to investing their own and external resources for growth.

However, the proposal lacks detailed plans for expanding the community-centered ecosystem. Although the proposer has effective experience in managing communities and DAOs, there is a lack of plans to utilize this experience for the Kaia Community Committee currently.

Nonetheless, their profound understanding of recent Web3 market trends and successful cases within the Kaia ecosystem suggests that the proactive approach and detailed strategy of the KnightFury Alliance could significantly contribute to the development of the Kaia ecosystem.

[Upcoming Timeline]

• Please note that this timeline is based on Korean Standard Time and is subject to change.

• Until July 5th: Committees will submit their revised proposals, incorporating feedback from evaluators. These proposals must detail the KPIs and milestones achievable over the 6-month period.

• Until July 12th: The Kaia Foundation and each committee will finalize discussions on budgets, business plans, KPIs, milestones, and specific operation plans.

• Until July 17th: A briefing session with the Governance Council will take place, where the foundation and each committee will actively communicate and gather feedback.

• Until July 19th: The final proposals, incorporating feedback from the Governance Council, will be completed.

• On the launch day of the integrated chain: The voting items for the inauguration of the BUGHOLE Committee and KnightFury Alliance will be registered.

• 7 days after the launch day of the integrated chain: Voting begins.

• 14 days after the launch: Official inauguration of the BUGHOLE Committee and KnightFury Alliance, if the vote passes.
